Theresa’s creative scholarship is reciprocal to her ongoing investigation of literacy and fluency in the digital world, connecting the communications and digital competencies comprised by media studies with the elements and principles of artistic expression. In this way, her roots as a visual arts teacher and work as a media literacy educator intersect as she seeks to explore media making and expression.
Her digital collages are made using original scanned artworks, photographs, and other mixed media that she has created, collected, and compiled into digital portfolios over many years. With this archive of imagery, Theresa engages in a visual narrative practice that is intuitive and flexible. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and art magazines.
